Sell or consign your boat

Discuss a direct purchase inquiry or a consignment and brokerage route for your boat. Availability and terms depend on the boat and the agreed arrangement.

Consignment and brokerage

Ask about the marketing approach, listing preparation, viewing process, commission, expenses and responsibilities. Put the agreement in writing, including term, withdrawal conditions, insurance and how closing proceeds are handled.

Direct purchase inquiry

If speed and simplicity matter, ask whether a direct purchase is possible. An offer depends on review of the boat, its condition, documentation and commercial fit; submitting a form does not guarantee an offer or sale.

Build the information package

Provide the year, make, model, engine hours, equipment, known issues, service history and ownership or lien details through an appropriate channel. Accurate information helps avoid surprises later.

Compare the net outcome

Compare proposed proceeds after fees, preparation, carrying costs and timing. A higher advertised asking price does not necessarily mean a better final result. Agree on the terms before authorizing marketing or accepting an offer.
