Nevada boat registration and titling.

Choose the correct NDOW transaction before gathering documents. A new boat, an out-of-state title and a Nevada title transfer are different cases.

Common question

Can I register a boat by mail in Nevada?

It depends on the boat. NDOW says new or untitled boats and boats with an out-of-state title cannot be completed by mail and must be handled in person, while a boat already titled in Nevada may be completed by mail. NDOW offers online renewal; check NDOW for other online options.

Match the transaction

NDOW publishes separate document lists for new or untitled watercraft, out-of-state titled watercraft and previously titled Nevada watercraft. Read the relevant section and contact the office about your circumstances before visiting.

Do all transactions require an office visit?

No. NDOW says the previously titled Nevada watercraft transaction may be completed by mail; its new/untitled and out-of-state titled pathways require an in-person transaction. Confirm the correct process directly with NDOW.

Keep official paperwork separate

Use NDOW’s official application channel for sensitive identity information. A Boats of NV inquiry form is not a registration application. Ask what original documents, signatures and lien-release information your transaction needs.
