Lake Mead launch planning.

Use the park’s live information for ramp decisions. This guide helps you prepare; it does not publish a live ramp-status feed.

Check the official source on departure day

Open the National Park Service alerts and conditions page before towing to Lake Mead. Water levels, access and ramp maintenance can change. Confirm the intended launch and retrieval arrangements with the relevant operator where applicable. We do not label a ramp open from an old snapshot.

Plan the whole movement

Confirm the ramp can accommodate your combination, then think through maneuvering room, parking, trailer setup and the return trip. Have an alternative plan if access or weather changes. An available ramp does not establish that the day’s conditions are suitable for your boat or experience.

Prepare before entering the launch lane

Use your boat and trailer checklists in the staging area. Check the drain plug where required, tie-down sequence, lines, equipment and passenger plan. Follow the manufacturer’s launch procedure and posted ramp instructions. Keep the launch lane clear while preparing.

Check the forecast as well as the ramp

Use the National Weather Service Las Vegas forecast and alerts for the location and timing of your trip. Build enough flexibility into the outing to postpone or return early when conditions call for it.
